A Project Timeline

We are part way through a process that was initiated by the Toronto District School Board in 2014.

In 2016, Capital Developments and Metropia were selected to redevelop the 7.3-acre TDSB property. As part of the redevelopment of Bloor & Dufferin, Capital Developments and Metropia are committed to engaging with the community throughout the planning process.

2014

  • Toronto District School Board declares the Bloor & Dufferin site as surplus.

June 2016

  • Bloor & Dufferin / TDSB Lands Community Meeting organized by the TDSB, Toronto Lands Corporation and City of Toronto.

December 2016

  • Capital Developments and Metropia team selected to redevelop the site.

December – February 2017

  • Initial meetings with City staff, Councillor Bailão, local community groups and other stakeholders.

February – March 2017

  • Develop guiding principles and concepts for the project.

April 13, 2017

  • Open House # 1 – Present initial ideas and concepts.

Spring 2017 – Fall 2017

  • Ongoing community outreach.
  • Revise pre-submission materials based on feedback.
  • Application submission to City of Toronto.

2018

  • Participate in city-led community meetings.
  • Receive initial comments from City planning staff.
  • Participate in Urban Design Review Panel.
  • Revise application based on consolidated feedback.
  • Additional community meetings and final review at the Urban Design Panel.
